The Pakistan Military's Top Secret Internet Forum

01/06/2012
Meinhaj Hussain, m.hussain@grandestrategy.com

Bismillaharrahman arraheem. My intention here is not to expose this forum but to indicate to them that what they think is secure is not secure. It may prove to be a major intelligence cache for Israel and the United States. This is the reason that I am bringing what some brothers are doing there.

Let's just say that myth has it that there is a Pakistani military forum, using a very high "secured" security profile that seeks to discuss issues of national import. The participants of this forum are often very senior cogs in the Pakistan armed forces, retired personnel, experts of every background of import, a veritable Pakistani version of a League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Your competence in your fields is not a question. However, we all make mistakes. If you are giving away information of national import in this forum, I want you to take a minute to think before you post; what if what you just typed out ends up with "the enemy"? I know that some of you will not take seriously anyone who starts his writeup with "Bismillaharrahman arraheem". I've already been placed in the compartment of "mullahs" and other incompetent and passe people who are of no credibility to many of your eyes. As one of your fellow buddies Usman Shabbir has put it in his own words, my work is not to be taken seriously.

Consider this: if a backward mullah-type, civilian, non-Pakistani like myself can know what is going on and even get bits and pieces of information from your forum, can you imagine what CIA / Mossad / RAW can get? If you still are in doubt, please ask a competent overseas Pakistani IT security expert and let them have a look at your "defenses". Let me put it this way, anything that you type and that goes online or in some cases it does not even have to go online - it has many possibilities of being intercepted. Show some wisdom brothers, don't let a mullah like me tell you your jobs.

Now, do not get me wrong, I don't want you to shut off what you're doing. There is real value in discussing issues of import to the state. As Ibn Khaldun writes in the Muqadimah, discussion is the only way one can really master and understand a craft and people who do not discuss, as Ibn Khaldun puts it, have a false sense of knowledge and their knowledge is fundamentally defective. There is real value in what you are doing. What I am asking is that you keep your discussions more general and don't start putting out specifics in the heat of the argument to gain a one up on the other. Some other thoughts:

1. Get a truly expert IT specialist to give you a rundown of dos and don'ts
2. Don't think that PM (Private Message) is truly private.
3. Understand that what you think is of trivial importance may not always be trivial. One small example is that what is often being looked for are operational and organizational functional characteristics, rules, procedures, regulations. You don't know what may prove to be useful to the enemy because you don't know what he is looking for.
4. You're screwing up, realize this and stop denying or ignoring. Remember, the first psychological reaction to a shock is always denial.

And now my "mullah rant" to confirm the original suspicions of those who are truly blind and wake up those insh'Allah who have at least some ability to see. You guys have ruined the security of Pakistan. Pakistan's security has never been under greater peril. Your secularism is blinding you. You are on your way to destroying Pakistan although some of you think you're trying to save her. If you do not desist and if we are unable to stop you, you will succeed. If you love the West so much, go and live there. Let the people of Pakistan live the way they want to live, to be who they want to be, to whatever end.

And of mankind are some who say: We believe in Allah and the Last Day, when they believe not.
They think to beguile Allah and those who believe, and they beguile none save themselves; but they perceive not.
In their hearts is a disease, and Allah increaseth their disease. A painful doom is theirs because they lie.
And when it is said unto them: Make not mischief in the earth, they say: We are peacemakers only.
Are not they indeed the mischief-makers ? But they perceive not.
And when it is said unto them: believe as the people believe, they say: Shall we believe as the foolish believe? Beware! They indeed are the foolish! But they know not.
And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe; but when they go apart to their devils they declare: Lo! we are with you; verily we did but mock.
Allah (Himself) doth mock them, leaving them to wander blindly on in their contumacy.
These are they who purchase error at the price of guidance, so their commerce doth not prosper, neither are they guided.
Their likeness is as the likeness of one who kindleth fire, and when it sheddeth its light around him Allah taketh away their light and leaveth them in darkness, where they cannot see,
Deaf, dumb and blind; and they return not.
Or like a rainstorm from the sky, wherein is darkness, thunder and the flash of lightning. They thrust their fingers in their ears by reason of the thunder-claps, for fear of death, Allah encompasseth the disbelievers. (in His guidence)
The lightning almost snatcheth away their sight from them. As often as it flasheth forth for them they walk therein, and when it darkeneth against them they stand still. If Allah willed, He could destroy their hearing and their sight. Lo! Allah is able to do all things.
